Know about hunter x hunter characters? Hunter × Hunter has also been licensed for an English language release by Viz Media in North America, who published the series under the manga’s Japanese title. The plot of Hunter × Hunter revolves around Gon Freecss, a young boy from the slums of West City. He is a world-class elite “Hunter” (cyborg and former soldier) and part of a group called The Royal Guards. These elite soldiers protect Queen Anne Anthonisse from harm.

But when Master Asia and Killua Zoldyck try to capture her, Gon must rescue her, so they do not kidnap him. The end of this arc finds Gon’s father, Ging Freecss, who was once part of an organization called the “Knights of the Magic Feather,” a league of assassins that murdered mighty Hunters such as Ging’s friend Pariston Hill.

The following story arc focuses on Nen and the “Hunter Association”. Nen is one’s aura or life energy and is used for techniques called “Nen abilities.” Gon tries to wrest control from the hands of criminals who use this energy to achieve their goals. The final main character introduced in this arc is Kurapika, a young boy whose clan was murdered by the Phantom Troupe in their search for the legendary gem, ‘the one-eyed spider’.

Basic

In 2006, Viz Media licensed Hunter × Hunter and its related material,[6] including the anime series, for English-language production as an anime television series titled Hunter × Hunter (alternatively titled as 遊☆戯☆王（アイドルマスター） in Japan and ハンター×ハンター（ハンターハンター・ハンドレッド） in the United States), which produced 26 episodes of the anime’s first season and ended on January 31, 2008.

Viz Media is localizing the manga. The first 24 volumes have been translated and released as of January 2016. These volumes have also been translated into other languages, such as Spanish, German and Portuguese. Viz has also released the 34th volume in the United Kingdom in English and the 36th volume in Australia and New Zealand in English, but only one volume is available for both these countries due to low sales. It was announced that they would stop publishing volumes after the 37th volume.

Gon Freecs

The main hunter x hunter characters in the story. Gon is a 12-year-old boy who sets out on a journey to find his father, Ging Freecss. Ging left Gon with his aunt, Mito Freecss when he was young and has not been seen since. Gon dreams of becoming a Hunter like his father and following in his footsteps. He is well known for being extremely powerful and has a good heart, as he saves every life he can from the beasts he faces on the way to becoming a Hunter.

Gon also has two very close friends named Kite and Killua. Gon shares a passion for playing “Rock Paper Scissors” with Killua and taking Kite on a fishing contest every time they see each other. Gon’s mother is never mentioned in the story, though it was revealed that she died giving birth to him in the anime.

Gon has two powerful abilities: “Gon’s Will” and “Gon’s Eye.” The former is an uncontrollable urge to take action when faced with dangerous situations; despite the danger, he will charge in a while, ignoring all orders. The latter is his ability to become stronger after being hurt, similar to level-ups. During their journey, Gon is always accompanied by his two friends, Kurapika and Leorio.

Killua Zoldyck

Killua is a hunter x hunter characters who have always been regarded as the strongest student in his class. He is one of Gon’s best friends and a former member of the “Knights of the Magic Feather” with Ging and his father. Killua has a unique ability called “Nen,” which allows him to sense other people’s thoughts (can also be used to kill). In addition, Killua has another ability called “Zetsu,” which allows him to have temporary shapeshifting abilities (through his legs) that are super-powerful and can shoot out tendrils. Killua is also skilled with poison, which he frequently uses throughout the series.

Kurapika

Kurapika is an observer hunter x hunter characters who can see other people’s thoughts and briefly knows about Nen. His task is to observe others and report his findings to his boss, Ging. Kurapika has an ability known as “Mind Reading,” which allows him to be aware of someone’s plans before they happen to counter them or take advantage of them. Kurapika is also very skilled with poison, which he often uses throughout the series. Kurapika has two friends named Netero and Leorio. He often teams up with them in the battle to face new threats that Gon cannot handle by himself. Together, Gon and Killua fight against new dangers as they follow a mysterious assassin known as the “Hunter.” A Hunter can be anyone aside from Hunters, so there is no hierarchy among them.

A furious Kurtal Clan member turns his eyes bright red, which signifies a tremendous boost in physical strength. Even though Kurapika can only develop these traits as he gets older, he would still be able to outrun and overpower three grown men in this state effortlessly overpower them.

Leorio Paradinight

Leorio is one of Gon’s best friends and also a doctor. He sets out on his journey with Gon to become a Hunter but fails the exam twice. His eyes are so intense that he can make out characters from words of mouth from miles away (he uses it to cheat in the Hunter Exam). Whenever someone is hurt, Leorio will heal them using his medical ability called “Auto-Physician.” This ability allows him to heal wounds or illnesses without using therapeutic tools or medicine. Leorio emits his energy in a straight line that travels through space from his body to where he wants to hit something. His fist extends out of a circular opening in his palm.

Ging Freecss

A famous elite Hunter who also happens to be Gon’s father. Ging became a Hunter to hunt down “The Spider,” a group that murdered his friend Pariston Hill and fellow teammates from the “Knights of The Magic Feather.” He is currently training in the NGL (Netherlands).

Conclusion

Hunter x Hunter is one of the best manga I’ve ever read. The story is so profound and compelling that I can’t wait to see what happens next. And the characters, especially Gon and Killua, are adorable and funny. The art is not shabby either; Togashi has a fantastic sense of detail in his drawings.
